Choosing a backing

Both backings hold the same stud — what differs is how firmly they hold and how quickly they come off.

  • Screw Back

    The post is threaded and the back winds on. It cannot work loose, so it suits studs left in day and night.

  • Push Back

    Slides onto a smooth post and grips by friction. Quicker to fasten, and easier if you change earrings often.

A screw back takes a few seconds longer to fasten. If a piercing has stretched or sits low, it is the safer of the two.

Shipping & Returns

Every piece leaves the workshop insured and travels in signature packaging that needs a signature at the door. Pieces held in stock are dispatched within two working days; made-to-order settings take a fortnight or so, and we will give you a date before you pay.

If it is not right, send it back within 30 days, unworn and with its certificate, and we will refund it. Return postage is ours.

Sizing & Resizing

Order a complimentary ring sizer if you would rather measure at home than guess, or ask any jeweller for your size and tell us the scale you were given.

The first resize in the first year is on us, where the setting allows it. Full eternity bands and some patterned profiles cannot be resized without remaking the piece; if yours is one of them we will say so before you order rather than after.

Our diamonds are grown rather than mined, and every one arrives with its own independent grading report. Nothing is drop-shipped: each piece is made and set by hand in our own workshop, one setter to a piece.

Should a setting or a solder ever fail, it is covered for as long as you own it. Write to us and we will put it right.

Colour is graded D–Z, from colourless downward — the difference is subtle once a stone is set.

Clarity

Clarity records the inclusions formed as a diamond grew — most are visible only under 10x magnification.

Carat

Carat measures weight, not size — a well-cut stone can look larger than its carat suggests.
